They had a few in stock and I think I got one of the very last.
It’s very hard to find something with genuine amber at a decent price, it was a stroke of luck really!

I’m tracking down a couple of his works yes

I have Sauneron’s book and it’s a good grounding indeed but I’m looking for specifics. Wilkinson’s book on temples is quite nifty too.

I’ll be grateful for links but don’t rush it just for my sake, whenever you remember.
At the moment still organizing what I have so far and it’s a daunting task lol. Must stop using bits of paper to jot down and get more organized!

Look into DuQuesne’s books for stuff on Anubis. You’ll get a lot of Wepwawet stuff, too.

DuQuesne’s books are pretty rare, but you should be able to get ahold of them via interlibrary load depending on where you live.

Apparently, cults to various gods followed a similar template everywhere you went, so if you read Priests of Ancient Egypt by Serge Sauneron, you’ll get a good grounding for everything else.

I might have links to some JSTOR articles later, but I have to search for ‘em.

Thanks! I think I know what you mean. That would really be confusing, though I imagine titles and places of worship would be useful. (In the old days, people would do that with their own names. John the Tall, John the Short, John the Blacksmith, John the Baker, John of Hilltown, John of Seaville, etc.)

Yeah. Each Kemetic tends to have a deity, or deities they focus on. I think that’s how they do the cult center thing without realizing it.

You’re making two excellent points, thank you for the comment! The difference in languages is definitely worth considering. And of course, the cult centres of Ancient Egypt and how the ancients related to the Gods with echoes in our modern days – I too have seen Kemetics practice in a way very similar to cult centres. I think most do, even without realizing it.

I have often wondered if this discussion would even exist if there would be Gods with the same name. How would we make the difference when speaking of Them? By referring to Their place of worship? Titles? Attributes? Iconography? We’d really be in a pickle then I think! [I'm thinking a Horus the Elder/Horus the Child sort of situation - though this example isn't the best since the difference is easy to point out. More like two Anubis or two Thoth. Know what I mean?]
